Hill Holder

The safety device is now widespread in almost all vehicles in the Fiat group.

Hill Holder

Hill Holder is an ESP-controlled electronic system that automatically assists the driver when pulling away. The sensor detects when the vehicle is on a sloping road, and if the engine is running, a gear is engaged and the brake is applied, the ESP control unit maintains active braking even after the brake is released. It's a couple of seconds, the time it takes the driver to accelerate and restart.

Very useful, especially when you find yourself in a convoy on an uphill road where restarting often takes a while and the car tends to get off a lot before moving forward again. On the other hand, with this system, it is easier to restart without retreating in the slightest, which reduces the risk of a collision with the vehicle that follows us.

Hill Holder also works in the opposite direction.

Take Hill Huss.
