During the IAA 2019 in Frankfurt, Bjorn Nyland and the Autogefuehl team had the opportunity to get to know an interesting urban electrician: the Honda e. This bold car, stylistically reminiscent of the old Honda Civic and Golf I. is sold in Germany.

Honda e: length and specifications

Honda i ma length 3,92 meters, it is 6-13 centimeters shorter than the classic representatives of the B segment: Mini Electric (3,98 cm), BMW i3 (4 m), Ford Fiesta or Renault Clio. This places it somewhere on the border of the A and B segments, but significantly higher than the Fiat 500e. The car was designed primarily for city driving and it's hard to resist the feeling that as soon as he finds his first buyers, he will be very visible on the street.

Honda e batteries have a capacity of 35,5 kWh.which, according to the manufacturer, is enough for 220 kilometers (WLTP). In the city, this value should more or less correspond to reality, except for it in mixed mode it will be slightly worse, in our opinion, about 185-205 km. According to an Autogefuel spokesman, the car supports charging power up to 50 kW, according to information provided by Honda, this is a slightly higher value.

Honda e: small pearl or ... small pearl?

The car will be available in versions with two engines: base. Honda i must have power 100 kW (136 hp), Honda and Advance - 113 kW (154 hp)... Typical elements of the car are located under the hatch at the front. If it weren't for the separate charging port damper in the middle, we could be thought of as an internal combustion car.

> SWEDEN. Tesle is out of the list of the safest cars. They hit ... too few accidents

The aforementioned flap opens upwards and opens with a button on the radiator grille. We hope that there will be no problems with connecting the car to charging in the rain ...

The trunk is small in the back, it will fit backpacks and small purchases. You will have to place or process larger objects to match:

Honda e: interior and prices

Nyland liked the screens that replace the mirrors, in his opinion, they are placed more intelligently than in the Audi e-tron. The screens on the dashboard were also impressive. Autogefuehl even melted the materials usedwhich refer to the style of the living room in the apartment - at some point, the YouTuber even decided that he had not seen such a well-designed and thoughtful Honda with such good materials in the interior.

Once you're behind the wheel, the perpendicular displays really fit comfortably into the field of view and don't seem as intrusive as when viewed from the side. Everything is close at hand, some buttons and knobs remain traditional. Honda didn't forget to keep the floor level, smartphone pocket, USB ports for charging the phone, and even a 230V socket for connecting a laptop:

There isn't a lot of space in the back seat, but with a 1,86 cm front seat fitted to the Youtuber's height, he also somehow fits in the back - in his opinion, there is enough space for short, city trips. , even for an adult;

As we already mentioned, the Honda e is now available in Germany. Unfortunately, the manufacturer positions the car as a premium product - he priced it more expensive than the Honda CR-V, at 33 euros. If a similar strategy were used in Poland, Honda and should start with from about PLN 144 [preliminary calculations www.elektrowoz.pl]:
