Al “Live on a Motorcycle – Great Madrid Motorcycle Show” oggi, April 5, Honda presented the new scooter as a world premiere Honda PCX 125 model year 2018... The brand's best-selling scooter (over 140.000 units since its launch in 2010 to the present) has been completely revamped inside and out without changing its identity as a practical, easy-to-handle and extremely versatile scooter. No distortion in appearance, which, however, acquires clearer and smoother lines, emphasized LED Signature what stands out from the front and back.

The seat height is now 764 mm and leg and legroom has increased. As well as the increase in the load capacity of the saddle compartment (by one liter), which is now a total of 28 liters: it can accommodate a helmet that covers the face and other items. There measuring instruments it is brand new and features a negative backlit LCD panel. But the news is also about cyclingbecause the new PCX 125 2018 has a completely redesigned frame. The old tubular steel construction with the lower rear beam is being replaced by a new robust double cradle construction, also tubular steel.

For the first time on a Honda scooter, a heavy-duty plastic fairing support replaces the steel structure of the previous design. Together with the new frame, this solution allowed to reduce the total weight by 2,4 kg. The wheelbase is slightly shorter (-2mm) now at 1.313mm, and the steering geometry remains virtually unchanged with a 27° head angle and 86mm travel. Weight with a full tank of gasoline has not changed and is equal to 130 kg. The rims are also new, lighter and always made of alloy, but now with 8 spokes instead of 5. fork with 31 struts, it remains unchanged, with 89mm of wheel travel, and the rear shocks are connected at the rear. They are now equipped with triple permanent spring springs to ensure better shock absorption in any gait. The braking system, on the other hand, gets ABS.

Il engine single-shaft (SOHC) with two valves with a volume of 2 cu. cm, liquid-cooled, is the most updated version of the famous Honda eSP project. It is equipped with a Start & Stop function and now offers maximum power, increased by 125 kW to the present. 12,2 CV (9 kW) at 8.500 rpm, with a maximum torque of 11,8 Nm at 5.000 rpm, and guarantees consumption is 47,6 km / l in the middle cycle of WMTC (with an autonomy of up to 350 km).
