Husqvarna TE 450 IE

  • : Husqvarna TE 450 ie

When I had the opportunity to speak with Chris Pfeiffer this year, who also uses the new BMW G450X in his "stunt" performances, he mentioned that things are different from the German takeover of Husqvarna. He hid the details, but made it clear that something was happening in the area.

Which? There are at least two possibilities. First, BMW, full of experience, will steal knowledge from Husqvarna, embed it in their motorcycles and continue the story under the blue and white badge, which would not be strange at all, since they have already done the same in the world of four-wheelers with Land Rover. ... X Series On the other hand, it would be a shame to disappear (sorry, I can exaggerate) such a well-known name among off-road motorcycles like Husqvarna, so there is another option: continue the line of recreational SUVs under the Husqvarna name with BMW inserts. And, of course, then earnings.

At the moment, it is difficult to predict how the great BMW representatives who bought Husqvarna exactly one year ago will decide. However, we know, and this has been confirmed by Mr. Zupin, who remains loyal to the former Swedish brand, that the demand for a German takeover is significantly higher. Especially in Germany, of course. But what new items did they come up with a year after the entire field program was radically redesigned to convince others to buy?

The least noticeable, but the most important novelty is hidden in the frame. Although they repaired it last year when they managed to save four kilograms, they refurbished it again this year and claim that it is one kilogram lighter and at the same time allows for better handling of the motorcycle. The driving position is now more "motocross" as the seat and fuel tank are almost completely aligned and leave enough maneuvering room to move or move the body while standing.

Husqvarna has a very narrow angle between the legs, even when you are standing on steep slopes - it is very difficult to hold the motorcycle with your legs, which makes your hands suffer more.

New are camomile brake discs, a Sachs rear shock, black rims, and the front telescopes have only received other adjustments. The graphics have been changed, the plastic parts are filled with black paint and the front grill has been replaced. By the way, why didn't the light in front of the car shine in the Husqvarna hard enduro yet, but somewhere in the beech canopy? It is not difficult to fix it manually, and besides, we rarely ride such a motorcycle at night, but sometimes it happens that events on earth do not go according to plan and the day's "truck" drags on into the night. ...

Inside the single-cylinder engine, bearing lubrication has been improved and the relief valve has been replaced, the transmission forks have been reinforced, a new oil filter has been inserted, and stronger steel exhaust valves in the cylinder head have been inserted. Also new are the camshaft chain tensioner, the seal on the cylinder block and the exhaust system, which sounds quite loud when the locks are removed (can anyone drive a strangled hard enduro?). most.

Unofficially, we heard that some last year's models had problems with electronic fuel injection when the tank was low on fuel, and this is also supposed to be corrected. In our test, we were satisfied with the electronics, as the Husa ignites perfectly at any time, without manually adding gas and long waiting with a thumb on the red button. Even after the motorcycle with the driver overturned in difficult terrain! The unit pulls well in the lower rev range, but is not aggressive.

Example: if you want to drive in third gear at a lower speed on gravel, there will be no power; the TE 510 is more suitable for such a maneuver. But as soon as the engine wakes up, the power is enormous. So much so that driving at wide open throttle is by no means easy and requires a lot of experience and fitness. Where we don't need explosiveness, such as various rocky inclines, over roots and similar obstacles, the Husqvarna does an excellent climb and the soft throttle response is really very welcome.

The suspension absorbs small bumps well, and with the jumps and big jerks to the front wheel we got the feeling it could work better. The brakes are great, and the fast gearbox is commendable. Graje? In the unprotected area of the exhaust pipe in front of the muffler, I just inadvertently burned my pants. This will not happen while riding, but on an enduro it is sometimes necessary to get off, grab your hand and move the bike over the log so that it has a knee.

So she squeaked. . Even the handles under the seat are too small and with too sharp plastic edges to be used for this - it is better to hold on to the rear fender, which will then stain the gloves.

This new TE 450 is a great enduro machine. However, it is difficult to say that it is the best - for this we will have to wait for the comparative enduro test, which we will conduct within a month. We can't wait - the law is tough.
