Games that will make you feel like a superhero

Many of you have a favorite superhero. If you had to pick one, the characters mentioned would definitely include Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Thor, and possibly The Flash. In the two biggest comic book universes - Marvel and DC - there are plenty of heroes for every taste. This first comic world, just two days apart, will offer fans two premieres to invite superheroes into their homes. I'm talking about the movie"Avengers: War of Infinity"On DVD and BD and in game"Spiderman“For PS4 console.

Let the last point serve as an occasion for reviewing the most interesting superhero games released for computers and consoles.

Marvel

Spider-Man, as one of the flagship heroes of the House of Ideas universe, has more games than the newest one, which is the responsibility of Insomniac Games (the creators of the Ratchet & Clank and Resistance series). One of the highest-rated productions about people with abilities known from comics is Spider-Man 2: The Game. Released in 2004, it is the official adaptation of the second installment in the Tobey Maguire film series as Spider-Man.

Peter Parker, of course, appeared in more computer games - here it is worth mentioning "Shattered Dimensions" in 2010, where as many as 4 versions of Spider-Man from completely different worlds met in one production. Moreover, Payonchek remains the record holder when it comes to Marvel - he appeared in 35 games, including the very first adaptation of Marvel comics, a 2600 Atari 1982 game called "Spider-Man".

It's a little surprising that in such a powerful universe, there were not too many games that were appreciated by players and reviewers. Most of them are small unremarkable titles or brawls that prefer exciting matches to exciting stories. We're still waiting for the first big-budget game based on the Avengers brand - it was announced in early 2017, but we'll have to wait for any details. However, among the heroes popular on the movie screen, there is one team that has already been interpreted in a modern way in a playful way. Guardians of the Galaxy debuted in 2017 as an integral part of Guardians of the Galaxy: Checkpoint Series, a five-episode game with the developer's typical cartoon style and simple puzzle-based gameplay. , quick events and dialogues.

Fortunately, the cure for all dissatisfied is reliable LEGO bricks. The rapidly expanding series of block games couldn't ignore the cinematic success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, which resulted in three superhero items: the two-part "Marvel Super Heroes" and "LEGO Marvel's Avengers". And since we're talking blocks...

DC Comics

LEGO hasn't missed out on the world of detective comics either. They have their own blocky incarnation, including Batman and Superman. Batman is the protagonist of three Lego Batman parts, and villains from this world will see their game in the fall. Then "LEGO DC Supervillains" will appear on store shelves.

Superman, in turn, has two very important positions. Like Marvel's Spider-Man, Krypton's son is the protagonist of DC's first ever comic book game (Superman, released in 1979 on the Atari 2600). At the same time, the strongest superhero released a production that is considered one of the worst PC games in the history of this medium. The game for the Nintendo 1999 console, released in '64, is still used as an example of developer incompetence and excessive interference of brand owners in the development process.

The honor of this universe is protected by the Dark Knight. There are more productions about Batman than about Spider-Man, and in the recent history of computer games, it was Bruce Wayne's dark alter ego that appeared in one of the highest rated series. We are talking about 4 episodes of the Arkham saga. It all started with the 2009 game "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and continued for 6 years until the premiere of the game "Batman: Arkham Knight", on which the story ended. Rocksteady's productions (and one slightly less-rated WB Games Montreal production) are today considered the epitome of extremely well-crafted open-world adventure games. So it's no surprise that the creators of the latest Spider-Man console took this incarnation of Batman as a model and modeled their game on the Arkham series. After all, inspiration should be sought in the best.

The world of computer games is so capacious that it includes not only the most famous characters. Both Marvel and DC have interesting stories in their portfolios that also have computer versions, though not necessarily about heroes dressed in tight suits. Detective Comics provided players with The Wolf Among Us, a modern adult take on the most famous fairy tales. Marvel, on the other hand, currently owns the rights to the Men in Black brand, so games released under that name officially belong to Dom Pomyslov's broad portfolio. The superhero has many names and presents himself to the public in more than one form.
