For the first time, IBM researchers have been able to accurately measure the timing and extent of data transfer in nanostructures. This aspect plays a key role in the development of Racetrack memory, which IBM has been working on for six years.

It uses nanostructures and is intended primarily for small-sized devices. According to assumptions, Racetrack will be able to store up to 100 times more information than traditional technologies.

In addition, it should be able to automatically transfer the necessary data to the right place. To do this, bits in the form of magnetic fields move along the nanowires in the form of loops. (IBM)
