TEST: BMW C Evolution Electric Scooter [Verushevski]

Marek Wieruszewski posted on YouTube the test results of the BMW C Evolution, an electric scooter from BMW that has recently appeared on the Polish market. The two-wheeled car was considered an interesting experiment, which, however, cannot yet compete with internal combustion vehicles.

Price and driver's license

BMW C Evolution starts at PLN 60.... The scooter, depending on the version, allows you to travel 100 or 160 kilometers on a single charge (manufacturer's data, NEDC).

The smaller battery version matches a 125 cc internal combustion scooter, so it can be driven with a Category B driver's license. The larger battery version has 26 hp. and already requires a motorcycle license.

Travel behavior

The motorcycle is self-assured thanks to the low center of gravity. The reclining seat allows the rear passenger to see the road above the driver's head. Marek Wieruszewski is 175 centimeters tall, he touched the ground with his fingers - to use the entire foot, he had to slide to the front of the sofa.

The suspension absorbed bumps well and the brakes were rated “excellent”. Out of curiosity, add a reverse gear that helps the bike maneuver in the parking lot.

Usefulness

However, according to Marek Verushevsky, the scooter is moderately adapted for the city, but outside the city it will have problems. Its weight (270 kilograms) will not allow it to move quickly in traffic jams, and going out of town will prevent its short range.

The motorcycle passes the promised 100 kilometers without recharging with a gentle ride. When driving at speeds above 80 km / h, we lose 1 percent of the battery charge more often than every 1 kilometer. Charging the battery to 80 percent takes about 2 hours, and to 100 percent in 3 hours.
