Nissan Z Story - Auto Story

300ZX Z32 (1989)

The history of the Nissan Z begins in 1969 with the 240Z, but it is the first model to officially arrive in Italy. The concept, anticipating the shape of the successor to the 300ZX, was unveiled at the 1999 Detroit Auto Show, but its retro shape and engine (2.4 with only 203 hp) do not convince the Japanese management.

A second prototype, with a more aggressive and modern design, debuted the following year, again in Detroit, and a nearly identical production version was launched following approval from the Japanese brand leaders.
