How an abnormally warm winter will hit the wallets of car owners

Unusual, as forecasters say - Bavarian - winter, squelching with rains in the European part of Russia, has dramatically changed the standard behavior algorithms not only for migratory birds, but also for car owners. How exactly did the AvtoVzglyad portal figure it out

TIRE SUFFERING

First of all, as it turns out, there was no need to change summer wheels to winter ones this autumn. Some fellow citizens still travel like this “on the fly”, although the end of January is already on the calendar.

Slightly positive temperatures, a minimum of snow, a maximum of anti-icing reagents poured by public utilities on the roads - why pay for the “re-shoeing” of a car into winter tires, if everything is driving fine anyway? Solid savings on the services of tire fitters!

Nevertheless, the majority of car owners last autumn still put wheels corresponding to the cold season on their cars. And now they have to put up with increased wear of soft winter tires at positive temperatures. And the tires of cars belonging to lovers of "studding", among other things, are now parting with studs in an accelerated mode - from constant driving on clean asphalt.

BODY WORSE

It is also worth noting that the above-mentioned road reagents in conditions of almost constant dampness and positive temperatures in an enhanced mode affect the metal of car bodies. At negative temperatures, their chemical activity would be sharply reduced.

LIFE WITHOUT FROST

But there are also positive moments from a warm winter. Firstly, for almost two months, drivers have been able not to buy anti-freeze fluid for the windshield wiper. There are no frosts, you can pour water from the tap into the tank - short-term frosts in this respect do not significantly spoil life.

WEATHER WEATHER

Car owners have practically eliminated the need to warm up the car and clean it from snow. This means significant savings in gasoline, time and the need to buy sweeping brushes for snow has disappeared, since the latter have, in fact, ceased to be used and worn out.

ONE LESS BATTERY

Motorists from among those who this autumn mentally prepared for heavy morning engine starts in cold weather due to a “dying” battery, and in general, apparently, are happy with standing weather. Even an old battery in conditions of near-zero temperatures more or less copes with its duties, regularly turning the crankshaft and applying voltage to the spark plugs. And if a normal winter came last December with daytime temperatures in the region of -10º C, thousands of car owners would be forced to fork out for new batteries. And so - a solid savings!
