How to get to your destination in a hot car and not "burn out"

Many people find it hard to bear the heat. Walking in such conditions is like torture. But even worse for drivers who spend time in a metal structure. This is not only unpleasant, but also dangerous. To make your trip more comfortable and safe, you should read the recommendations.

How to get to your destination in a hot car and not "burn out"

Remember the stopping distance

This is an important aspect that should never be forgotten. On hot days, the stopping distance increases and this must be borne in mind. This is due to two reasons at once: the tires become softer, and the asphalt “floats” under the influence of high temperatures.

Be careful on the road so that you do not have to brake urgently. Such actions can lead to damage to the car. If you brake hard at high temperatures, the brake fluid can boil up to several hundred degrees in the system.

Every year the boiling point of TJ (brake fluid) drops. In the first year, brake fluid boils at 210 - 220 degrees. A year later already at 180 - 190 ° C. This is due to the accumulation of water. The more it is in the brake fluid, the faster it boils. Over time, it ceases to fulfill its function. When braking hard, it can turn into gas. Accordingly, the vehicle will not be able to stop.

To prevent such consequences, it is worth changing the brake fluid regularly. Experts recommend doing this at least once every two years.

Do not "force" the air conditioner

Drivers who have a climate system in their car can be called lucky. But the device must be used correctly, otherwise there is a risk of breaking it. Basic rules for using air conditioning in the car:

  • you can not immediately turn on the device at full power;
  • first, the temperature in the cabin should be only 5-6 ° C lower than the outside air - if it is 30 degrees outside, set the fan to 25;
  • do not direct the cold stream towards yourself - there is a risk of catching pneumonia;
  • after a few minutes, you can slightly lower the temperature to 22-23 degrees;
  • the air flow from the left deflector should be directed to the left window, from the right to the right, and direct the central one to the ceiling or close it.

If necessary, lower the temperature a little every few minutes. If you don't have air conditioning or a fan, you should open your windows. It is recommended to open on both sides. So it will be more active to blow through the interior.

More water, less soda

Don't forget to drink during the trip. But the drink must be chosen correctly. Avoid juices and sodas. They won't quench their thirst. It is better to drink plain water or with lemon. You can also take green tea with you. If desired, you can add a little lemon to it. It can be consumed after cooling to room temperature.

Experts recommend drinking every half an hour. Even if you don't feel like it, take a couple of sips. As for the temperature of the drink, it should be room temperature. Cold water will leave with sweat in a matter of minutes.

Pay attention to the container in which you pour the drink. Avoid plastic bottles. It is best to drink drinks and water from a thermos or glass containers.

The wet mother

A great option to escape from the heat in the absence of a fan. An effective, but not for everyone, comfortable way to cool off.

Wet the shirt well, wring it out so that water does not drain from it. Now you can wear. This method will save you from the heat for 30-40 minutes.

You can take transport with you not only a T-shirt, but also wet towels or pieces of cloth. Moisten them regularly with a spray bottle. You can wipe the steering wheel with a damp cloth, so driving will be even more comfortable. It would also be useful to cool the seats like that.

These tips will help make your driving experience more comfortable and safer in high temperatures. Using the tips, you can cool the interior without an air conditioning system.
