How to apply for a casco? – learn how to draw up a voluntary insurance policy correctly
Buying a new car is a joyful event in the life of any person. If you want to protect yourself from all sorts of risks, then the car must be insured. The OSAGO policy is a prerequisite, without which the operation of a car is prohibited.
The CASCO policy is a voluntary insurance that will cover your car repair costs in the event of an accident, and CASCO will also compensate for damage if your car is stolen, damaged as a result of natural disasters or illegal actions of third parties. The presence of the CASCO policy is mandatory if you purchase a car on credit. The cost of "CASCO" is not fixed, each insurance company offers its own conditions and coefficients by which the price of insurance is determined.
To issue a CASCO, you need to present a package of documents, the content of which may differ significantly depending on the chosen insurer. Mandatory are:
- a statement on company letterhead, this is essentially a questionnaire in which you need to answer a large number of questions so that agents can correctly assess the likelihood of insured events and the amount of compensation;
- the passport of the owner of the car and copies of the passports of all people inscribed in the OSAGO;
- data sheet;
- driver's license of the owner and other persons operating the car;
- certificate of registration of the car in the traffic police.
In addition to these basic documents, you may be asked to provide:
- if the car is new - a certificate of payment from a car dealership, if used - a contract of sale;
- an agreement with the bank, if the car is a loan;
- power of attorney if the insured is not the owner of the car;
- maintenance ticket;
- bills for payment of additional equipment - audio systems, external tuning, etc.;
- valuation if the car is second hand.
With all these documents (or some of them) you need to come to the company or call an agent to inspect the car. A reconciliation of all body numbers, VIN code, engine number and license plates will be carried out, a visual inspection of the car for damage. After that, a contract will be drawn up, it must be carefully read and signed. After paying the cost of insurance, you will be given a policy and a receipt for payment.
If an insured event occurs, you need to call your agent and wait for his arrival. After assessing the damage, a decision on the amount of compensation is made. Some companies may provide a tow truck service or loan you another vehicle until a payment decision is made.
