How to adjust (tighten or loosen) the alternator belt on a VAZ 2107

A very common reason for a drop in battery charging on a VAZ 2107 is a weak tension on the alternator belt. When several sources of electrical equipment are turned on, such as a light and a heater at the same time, you can hear the characteristic whistle of the belt. Alternatively, this sound may occur when water spills on the belt during rainy weather. In this case, it is necessary to correctly adjust, or rather to tighten the belt. To do this, you only need two keys, 17 and 19.

So, the first thing that needs to be done is to open the hood of the car and loosen the alternator belt tensioner nut on the VAZ 2107. It is located on top and is very clearly visible, and you can more clearly look at it here:

Now, if necessary, loosen the lower bolt, having previously unscrewed the engine crankcase protection:

Now, if we need to tighten the belt, then the generator must be moved to the right, if we stand in front of the car. If, on the contrary, weaken, then respectively to the left. An example is shown in the photo below:

After the adjustment procedure is completed and the tension is correct, you can tighten the upper nut and the lower bolt of the generator.
