The throttle valve is responsible for supplying air to the engine from the air filter. Air and gasoline combine and explode, setting the pistons in motion. When you step on the gas, you change the position of the damper, it opens wider and more air enters the engine. The throttle cable drives the throttle actuator.

The throttle valve is one of those components that can last a very long time, but over time it becomes contaminated with oily dust coming to it from the gas ventilation system that accumulates in the crankcase. Signs that the damper needs cleaning are as follows:

• uneven engine operation at startup;
• car jerking at speeds up to 20 km / h;
• floating idle and dips.

You can clean the throttle body yourself, for this you will need:

• dismantling - remove the air corrugation and disconnect the wires from the air pressure sensor and the position of the damper cover;
• when the engine has completely cooled down, disconnect the hoses through which antifreeze or antifreeze flows;
• remove the shutter from the fasteners.

When disconnecting the assembly from the intake manifold, check the condition of the gasket, if it is worn out, you will have to buy a new one, it can also be included in the repair kit. There are different sensors on the damper body, we remove only the pressure sensor from them, we do not touch the sensors marked in red, since they are calibrated and their position must not be violated.

You can clean the damper with the help of special auto chemical products and a simple rag. It is better to remove all rubber seals so that they are not corroded, and it is even better to buy new ones. Pour the damper abundantly with the agent and wait until all the dirt begins to sour. You can re-pour the damper with the agent and wipe it with a rag. Brushes do not need to be used to avoid scratching the internal surfaces, which are coated with a special molybdenum-based material for smoother air flow.

At the same time as cleaning the throttle valve, the idle valve, which regulates the air supply to the manifold at idle, is usually cleaned. The principle of cleaning is the same, both of these nodes are nearby and become contaminated at the same time.

As you can see, there is nothing difficult to clean, the main thing is to install all the gaskets and rubber bands correctly, otherwise air leakage and unstable engine operation will be felt.
