How to use a pin?

Step 1 - Hold a pushpinOnce you have selected and placed your material, usually a piece of hardboard or plywood, grasp the pushpin by the handle with your dominant hand. | |
Step 2 - Insert the panel stud into the stemInsert the pin, head first, into the hollow body or plunger of the pushpin. | |
If the push pin is magnetized, the pin should be securely held in place. If your pushpin is not magnetized, you will need to hold the tip of it while you place it on your work surface. | |
Step 3 - Insert the pin into placePlace the tip of the pushpin into the wood and push the handle firmly and steadily so that the pin enters the wood. | |
Step 4 - Remove push pinRelease pressure on the push pin handle so that the compressed spring is released and the piston can be removed. The first panel pin is now in place and the push pin is ready for another pin to be installed. | |
Step 5 - Drive in the panel pin with a hammerFinally, use a small hammer, such as a jackhammer, to drive the pins completely into the wood. |
