How to use a needle type moisture meter?

	How pin type moisture meters are used will vary slightly depending on the model. However, all methods should be similar to the following.
	Step 1 - Install the Moisture Meter Turn on the moisture meter and make sure it is set to the mode (material type) you are measuring. This varies from model to model and may not be needed at all. Follow the instructions that came with your moisture meter.
	Step 2 - Install the hygrometer Place the pins perpendicular to the surface of the substrate, and then insert them straight until they stop. You can use a small hammer if the pins are separated from the main body of the tool.
	Step 3 - Read Pay attention to the value on the screen and whether your meter is showing a percentage or a reference value.
Step 4 - Repeat Repeat the process at intervals over the entire area. Take more measurements in high risk areas, such as around windows when checking walls. For pieces of wood, you can calculate the average by adding up all your readings and then dividing by the number of readings.
