How to replace the spring on mole grips?

	You may need to replace the spring on the Mole Grips/Retainers because it has been damaged, for example when the Grips/Pliers have been repeatedly used to hold hot objects while welding. If you buy, for example, 200 mm (8 in) curved Mole grippers/pliers, springs can be purchased from the manufacturer for that type and length.
	Step 1 - Hold the Mole Handles Hold the Mole Grips/Pliers with the fixed handle and jaw facing up and the end of the adjusting screw facing you.
	Step 2 - Release the Jaws of the Mole Grips Loosen the adjusting screw by turning it counterclockwise. This will loosen the jaws and arms and open them wide.
	Step 3 - Unscrew the screw on the Mole knobs Remove the adjusting screw completely from the Mole clamps/pliers.
	Step 4. Loosen the connecting bar of the Mole grips. Slide the top of the link out of the slot in the top handle by pushing the link away from you with one hand until it releases.
	Step 5 - Disconnect the spring from the top handle of the Mole grips. Using a small screwdriver or similar tool, stretch the spring and disengage it from the underside of the upper handle.
	Step 6 - Disconnect the spring from the bottom handle of the Mole grips. Use the same tool to unhook the spring from the mandibular lug.
	Step 7 - Attach the spare hook spring to the bottom handle of the Mole grippers. Take the replacement spring and hook it onto the eye of the Mole clips/pliers.
	Step 8 - Attach the spare hook spring to the top handle of the Mole grips. Use the same tool to stretch the spring and place it on the small hook on the underside of the top handle.
	Most of the body of the replacement spring will go into the bottom of the top handle of the Mole clips/pliers held in place by a small hook.
	Step 9 - Mole Grapple Return Bar Insert the top of the link back into the groove in the top handle by first pushing the link away from you, aligning it with the groove, and then pulling the link towards you until it stops and sits in place in the top handle.
	Step 10 Replace the screw in the Mole grips. Tighten the adjusting screw at the end of the top handle.
	Step 11 - Mole Grips Ready to Use Your Mole Grips/Pliers are now ready to use.
