How to build an earth rammed wall?

Step 1 - Create a Structure

Assemble the frame, usually consisting of wooden side panels and supports. The height will depend on what size wall you are building. The width should be measured from the inside of the frame and will be the width of your wall. Typically, rammed earth walls are 300–360 mm (12–14 in) thick.

Building a house will still require a concrete base ready for the floor, but if you're building a barn or wall, a solid, flat base (or even a thin layer of rammed earth) will suffice.

After an hour, remove the frame, leaving a compacted earth shaft. Now it should be pretty solid. The wall will continue to harden until it is as hard and strong as a concrete wall.
