How to light a car from another battery video and photo process

If your battery is dead, it will be difficult to start the car. In this case, people use “lighting up” from the battery of another car.

To perform this operation, you will need:

• "crocodiles" - starting wires with clips on the terminals of both batteries;
• a car with approximately the same engine size and battery capacity.

The last point is very important - it is unlikely that it will be possible to light a “sixty” battery from a “weave” or vice versa, since there will not be enough current, and you can also burn all electronic sensors.

You should also make sure that the cause of the inability to start lies in the battery, and not in the starter or in any other failure. You can check the battery charge using an ordinary tester, in extreme cases, you can unscrew the plugs and measure the density of the electrolyte using a hydrometer. If your battery is faulty - there are cracks, the electrolyte has acquired a characteristic brown tint - lighting up will also not bring any result.

If you are convinced that the battery is simply dead and found a donor car, then try to place both cars so that the wires of the “crocodiles” reach the battery terminals. Turn off the ignition, put the car on the handbrake. The engine of the other car must also be turned off.

Attach clamps in the following sequence:

• positive - first in his car, then in the car of the “donor”;
• negative - first in the working machine, then “to ground” in its own - that is, to any metal part of the car engine, it is important that it is not painted.

Connecting a negative clamp to the terminal is not recommended, as this can lead to a quick discharge of a working battery.

When everything is connected, the working car starts and runs for several minutes so that the battery can be recharged a little, and charging is not from the battery, but from the generator. Then the "donor" engine is turned off, and you try to start your car. If the engine starts, leave it in working condition so that the battery is charged even more. Then we turn off the engine, remove the wires, and calmly start up again and go about our business.
