Number Sticker Penalty Against Cameras 2016

With the advent and widespread use of cameras for photo and video recording of traffic offenses on our roads, many drivers were tempted by various devices that make it difficult to read or completely cover the car number from cameras: nets, stickers, special sprays.

It is worth noting that the traffic police are aware of all these devices, and if you think that you will be able to avoid punishment for speeding, driving into the oncoming lane or for crossing the wrong intersection, then this is not true. And although there is no separate article in the Rules devoted to films and nets for numbers, for their use the driver may be subject to several articles:

• numbers that are difficult to identify - if the grid does not allow you to see the numbers and letters on the number from a distance of 20 meters, then you face a fine of 500 rubles in accordance with article 12.2, part one of the Code of Administrative Offenses);
• driving a car whose license plates contain materials that make it difficult to identify them - a fine of 5000 rubles / deprivation of the right to drive a car (CAO Article 12.2, part two).

According to the same article, driving a vehicle with various technical devices on the license plates that make it difficult to identify them is equated to driving without a license plate at all, and you will incur the same punishment. For a repeated violation, you can lose your rights for up to one year.

As practice shows, it is quite difficult to notice the sticker on the number in a close stream of cars. However, traffic police inspectors can calculate such cars with the high beam headlights on - numbers with stickers will light up. In addition, there is a lot of evidence that stickers do not always save from cameras. And if your car was registered by cameras, but the number could not be established, traffic police officers can easily figure you out by comparing various data - unmasked numbers and letters of the number, make of the car. Accordingly, you will have to pay several fines at once.

A more effective way to escape from fixation cameras is to use a good navigator with a base of fixed cameras. He will always warn you about approaching the camera and you will have time to slow down.
