How to remove the rear brake drum
Factory brake drums on Lada Grant cars are quite capable of traveling more than 150 km, and at this time they can effectively continue to work, which cannot be said about those parts that are bought new in a store or on the market. If the resource of the factory drums has come to an end, then it is necessary to replace them with new ones. This is usually accompanied by the following:

To replace the drums, you will need the following tool:
- 7 mm head
- Ratchet or crank
- Hammer
- Penetrating grease
- Copper grease

The first step is to loosen the parking brake cables so that later the drums can be removed more easily. After that, we remove the rear wheel of the car, after lifting the rear .. part of the car with a jack.
Now we unscrew the two drum guide pins:
When both pins are unscrewed, you can try to knock the drum from the back side by gently tapping the edge with a hammer through the spacer.
If the drum does not come off the hub, you can use method No. 2. To do this, screw the bolts into the holes next to the guide pins (or use the pins themselves), then screw them evenly, using as a puller.
When the drum is removed, you can replace it. Copper grease must be applied to the place of contact between the drum and the hub.
Installation is carried out in reverse order. After that, it is necessary to adjust the parking brake cables so that its effectiveness is at the proper level. The second changes in a similar way.
