How to troubleshoot when the car pulls to one side

If your car pulls to the left or leans to one side, check that the tires are all the same size, that the suspension parts are even, and that the springs are not bent.

If your vehicle pulls or leans to one side, not only is this unpleasant, but it can also be a possible safety hazard while driving down the road. You have to watch how your car sits and rides, and if you ever see or feel anything out of the ordinary, don't ignore it because it can cause problems in the long run.

Part 1 of 2: Diagnosing why the car is rolling

Step 1: Checking Tire Sizes. Whenever the vehicle is tilted to one side, start with the simplest check to make sure the tire shop hasn't made a mistake.

Check and see what tire size your car recommends and then go to all four tires and check the sizes to make sure all four tires are the same size. For example, if you have 205/40/R17 tires, you want them all to be that size.

Having tires of different heights can cause the vehicle to have uneven ride height, causing all sorts of problems with the vehicle's behavior and driving experience.

Step 2: Check Suspension Parts. You can now jack up the car and jack it up so you can inspect your car's suspension parts.

All you're really doing is comparing the good side with the bad side - visually - to see if there's a difference. This will most likely cause the car to lean to one side.

Check the dampers and struts - also check the springs as these parts can be bent or stuck causing the car to not stand at its normal level.

You can also look at the body and chassis to visually compare one side to the other for anything noticeable.

Part 2 of 2: Eliminate the Problem Causing Lean Manufacturing

Step 1: Replace the defective part. If a faulty part is causing the car to lean to one side, you can buy a new part and install it yourself, or call a certified mobile mechanic to help you install the new part.

Step 2. Commit bent chassis. Now, in case your chassis is bent, you will need to bend it in the shop before you can do anything else.

Once you've taken care of the chassis, you can now take the car for wheel alignment to make sure the car is going straight and you won't have tire wear issues.

Troubleshooting vehicle tilt to one side is very important as listed above. There can be many different reasons why your car leans to one side, so it's important to have it checked by yourself right away or have it done by a certified mobile mechanic.
