How to replace a motorcycle battery?

Your motorcycle is out of winter and you haven't thought of leaving your battery on a charge. The result is flat, your bike won't start anymore, you have to change it. Let's find out together how replace motorcycle battery myself.

Remove the old battery from the motorcycle

Find your battery first. It can be located under the seat, under the gas tank, or inside the fairing. Disassemble it starting with the negative terminal. This is a black cable with a -. Then disconnect the red positive pole "+".

You can now remove the old battery.

Connect a new motorcycle battery

First make sure your new battery is the same size and that the + and - terminals are the same as the old one. Also make sure it is compatible with your motorcycle.

Since acid block batteries have been banned for sale to individuals online as of February 2021, your new battery will already be ready for use. It may be sour, but it is prepared by a professional. Otherwise, it will be an SLA, acid, gel or lithium battery. The battery must be charged before installation.

After that, you must reconnect the cables in the reverse order. You must connect the positive side first and then the negative side. Use a wire brush to clean the terminals if they are corroded.

Check the motorcycle battery

Before putting everything back together and stacking everything up, make sure you have food. If all the lights are green, you can raise the saddle or something and start the motorcycle.
