How to replace a generator belt on a VAZ 2105

Of course, for more convenient work, it is advisable to use a 17 head with cardan joints and a ratchet, and a 19 wrench, although, you can completely get by even with open-end wrenches, spending a little more time and effort.
Do-it-yourself belt replacement on a VAZ 2105 generator
- In order to loosen the belt, you need to slightly unscrew the upper nut that secures the tensioner plate to the generator.
- If after that the generator does not lend itself to free movement for loosening, then it is worth slightly loosen the mounting bolt from below. This may require removing the engine protection first.
- If you look from the side of the hood of the car (front), then the generator should be taken to the right side. At this time, the belt is loosened and must be moved until it is easily removed from the pulleys.
- After that, you can easily remove the belt, since nothing else holds it.
The installation of the belt is carried out in the reverse order, then tighten it to the required level using the tensioner plate.

But it is also worth noting that a weak belt will slip, thereby giving too little charge to the battery.
