Mercedes-Benz. Although the brand was officially registered only in 1926, the history of the company dates back to the late 19th century. January 29, 1886 Karl Benz was issued a certificate for the patent Benz Patent-Motorwagen. It is generally accepted that this date is the founding date of Mercedes.
Peugeot. The founding family of the French automobile brand has been manufacturing since the 18th century. In the middle of the 19th century, a line for the production of coffee grinders was created at the factory. In 1958, the head of the company patented the name of the brand - a lion standing on its hind legs. In 1889, Armand Peugeot demonstrated to the public a self-propelled vehicle driven by a steam engine. A little later, the steam engine was replaced by a gasoline unit. Peugeot Type 2, released in 1890, was the first car of the French manufacturer.
Ford. In 1903, Henry Ford founded the famous car brand. A few years earlier, he created his first car - a Ford quadricycle. In 1908, the world's first mass-produced car, the famous Model T, rolled off the assembly line of the factory.
Renault. The three brothers Louis, Marcel and Fernand founded the automobile brand to which they gave their name in 1898. In the same year, the first Renault model, the Voiturette Type A, rolled off the assembly line. The main component of the car was a three-speed gearbox patented by Louis Renault.
Opel. The brand has come a long way, starting with the production of sewing machines in 1862, when Adam Opel opened a factory. In just 14 years, the production of bicycles was established. After the founder's death, the company's first car, the Lutzmann 3 PS, rolled off the Opel assembly line in 1895.
FIAT. The company was organized by several investors, and after three years FIAT took its place among the largest car manufacturers. After a visit by the company's management to the Ford plant, FIAT installed the first car assembly line in Europe at its plants.

Skoda. The Czech automobile company was founded by mechanic Vaclav Laurin and bookseller Vaclav Klement. Initially, the company made bicycles, but four years later, in 1899, it began to produce motorcycles. The company produced its first car in 1905.
AUDI. The automobile concern was organized by August Horch in 1909, after the "survival" of the first production of Horch & Co. A year after the founding, the debut car model appeared - AUDI Type A.

The abandoned Russo-Balt was accidentally discovered in the Kaliningrad region in 1965. It was purchased by the Gorky Film Studio and donated to the Polytechnic Museum. It is noteworthy that the car arrived at the museum on its own.
