On our Vodi.su portal, we pay a lot of attention to automotive electronics. In today's review, I would like to focus on such a necessary electronic device as a DVR with an anti-radar (radar detector). Which models are the most popular in 2018, how much they cost in different stores, and how motorists themselves evaluate this or that device. We will try to answer these questions.

Cenmax Signature Alpha

One of the models that is quite highly appreciated by users. Its main advantages:

• belongs to the middle budget class - the price starts at 10 rubles;
• wide viewing angle - 130 ° diagonally;
• automatic start of video recording and shutdown by timer;
• Supports 256 GB memory card.

A big plus of this model is that file compression is performed using the MP4 / H.264 codec, that is, the video image takes up a minimum of space on SD, but at the same time, excellent video viewing quality is provided even on a large screen in Full-HD format. If saving memory is important, you can turn off sound recording.

Another plus is the presence of an "alarm" folder, which contains videos recorded during a sharp increase in speed, braking or a collision. You can delete these files only through a computer. The G-sensor is quite sensitive, while it does not respond to shaking and shocks when driving on bad roads. The GPS-module allows you to synchronize the route of movement with Google maps. The video shows the current speed and numbers of cars passing by.

Users appreciated the comfortable mounting and good video quality, especially during the daytime. But there are also disadvantages. So, with a long stay in the sun, the suction cup dries up and does not hold the DVR. Firmware is raw. For example, drivers complain that default speed camera locations cannot be deleted from memory.

Subini Stonelock Aco

This model of a registrar with a radar detector is currently one of the most affordable, its price in various stores is approximately 5000-6000 rubles. As in the previous device, there is all the necessary functionality here:

• shock sensor;
• GPS module;
• Loop recording in MP4 format.

The radar detector, according to the manufacturer, responds to the SRELKA-ST, Robot, Avtodoria complexes. There is a function to control a dedicated lane for public transport. The battery is rather weak - only 200 mAh, that is, it will last no more than 20-30 minutes of battery life in video recording mode.

It is worth noting that despite the large number of positive reviews about this device, there are also negative ones. So, some users note that GPS is installed here purely for appearance. That is, when watching a video, the coordinates are not displayed and you cannot trace the route on the maps. This is a big minus, since if you receive a “letter of happiness” from the traffic police, you will not be able to prove your innocence. For example, if your car is photographed while exceeding the speed limit or crossing the wrong intersection.

Into BLASTER 2.0 (Combo)

Another expensive device with a radar detector at a price of over 11 thousand rubles. In addition to the standard set of functionality, the user will find here:

• voice prompts in Russian when approaching speed cameras;
• operation of the detector in all ranges - X, K, Ka, optical lens for detecting laser fixing devices;
• defines Strelka, Cordon, Gyrfalcon, Chris;
• there is an HDMI output for connecting directly to the TV;
• on the video you can see the geographical coordinates and numbers of cars;
• video of very high quality both in the daytime and at night.

In principle, there were no particular shortcomings in the operation of this DVR. There are some points that motorists pay attention to. Firstly, the gadget is not equipped with a built-in battery, that is, it only works when the engine is on or is powered directly from the battery if, for example, a motion sensor is triggered at night. Secondly, the cord here is quite short. Thirdly, the processor does not always cope with image processing, so the picture is blurry at high speeds.

SilverStone F1 HYBRID EVO S

A new model from a well-known South Korean manufacturer costs around 11-12 thousand rubles in stores. Users note wide viewing angles and convenient mounting on the windshield. The design is also well thought out, there is nothing superfluous on the case. The controls are very simple and intuitive.

The resolution here is 2304×1296 at 30 fps, or 1280×720 at 60 fps. You can choose the appropriate setting yourself. To save memory, the microphone can be turned off. The battery here is quite powerful, as for this device - 540 mAh, its charge is enough for an hour of battery life in audio and video recording mode. The recorder rotates on the mount and can be easily removed.

As a radar detector, SilverStone products have always been highly valued. This model has the following ranges:

• works at all known frequencies;
• confidently catches Strelka, mobile radars, laser fixing devices;
• short-pulse POP and Ultra-K modes are supported;
• there is VG2 protection from radar detection - a necessary feature for traveling to EU countries where the use of radar detectors is prohibited.

There are also disadvantages and users talk about them in their reviews. So, the coverage of the lens is only 180 °, respectively, if the laser hits the back, then the model will not be able to detect it. There are frequent false positives. In the factory firmware, the DVR does not detect some types of memory cards.

Artway MD-161 Combo 3в1

Inexpensive model at a price of 6000 rubles, which is hung on the rear-view mirror. The manufacturer has endowed this device with all the necessary functionality. However, if you listen to the opinion of experienced drivers, this model has enough shortcomings:

• Full-HD is possible only at 25 fps, but if you need a higher recording speed, then the picture comes out blurry;
• the anti-radar sometimes does not even catch the Strelka, not to mention the more modern OSCONs;
• the location map of stationary cameras is outdated, and updates are rare;
• The GPS module is unstable, it searches for satellites for a long time, especially after starting the engine.

Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to test this model personally, so we definitely cannot say how true the negative reviews of drivers are. Nevertheless, the DVR is selling well and is in demand.
