Which epilator to choose? Disk, tweezers or laser?

Thick and long hair certainly looks good on the head, but hair on other parts of the body does not fit into the current canons of beauty. Do you want to know how to quickly get rid of unwanted hair? Are home hair removal methods a good solution? Or maybe it is better to choose laser hair removal in a beauty salon?

Which epilation method you choose depends on several factors: the degree of hair growth, the desired duration of the smooth skin effect, the time you want to spend per epilation session, and your preferences regarding the level of pain of the procedure.

Epilation or traditional shaving?

There are many methods of depilation. Shaving is the fastest, but also the least durable. You can decide on them with the help of manual razors or - more conveniently and safely - with the help of an epilator. For example, you will find the shaving head in the BRAUN SE 5541 set together with the classic epilation cap. Remember - shaving works well, for example, in the bikini area, as well as in preparation for IPL or laser hair removal.

You can epilate for a longer period (up to several weeks) by choosing mechanical methods that allow you to pull out the hairs from the root. In this category, you can choose from cosmetic products such as wax patches to modern devices such as classic epilators, tweezers or discs. Which epilator to choose and will it work better disc epilator or tweezers?

Epilators-tweezers pull out hairs at high speed. They will work best for thin, sparse hair. On the other hand, disc epilators are suitable for thick and coarse hair. Epilation with a modern electric epilator – e.g. Braun Silk-épil 7 7-561 - it is quite fast and, importantly, less painful than waxing. The heads of good epilators are profiled so that, on the one hand, they capture hairs even a few millimeters long, and on the other, they minimize the pain of the procedure.

Do you want to get rid of hair forever? Bet on the laser!

There are two different methods of laser hair removal. The first is IPL, the second is precision laser hair removal. How different are they? IPL (Intense Pulse Light) is a technology used in home "laser" epilators. In fact, the light emitted by this equipment is called a pulsed light source of various wavelengths. On the other hand, laser epilators are mainly used in beauty salons - they emit laser light with a precisely matched frequency.

Differences between laser hair removal and IPL hair removal

The described methods, although very similar, differ in several ways. IPL is a procedure that can be less painful than laser – the light beam does not penetrate as deep under the skin, making the treatment less intense. One IPL procedure takes much less time than a laser one - the head of devices such as the IPL BRAUN Silk-expert 3 PL 2011 covers more hairs at a time than a precise laser.

The laser works most effectively when you have a very light complexion and very dark hair, and IPL also works with slightly lighter hair and darker skin, and modern devices automatically adjust the parameters of the light beam to the skin pigmentation in a particular area. body (and this can be different, for example, depending on how tanned your skin is). The effects of IPL may last shorter than the effects of a laser, but much longer than the results of classical mechanical hair removal, and certainly shaving, although they will have to wait a bit (the hair should fall out on its own, due to thermolysis).

Which method is better to choose - IPL or traditional hair removal?

Which method is the most effective and which one to choose epilator - laser or conventional? There are several parameters to consider. First: the price. Classic epilators are much cheaper than good IPLs. Second: available features. Popular, for example, are complete epilation kits such as the BRAUN Silk-épil 9 Flex 9300, which, in addition to the epilation head, includes products for deep body exfoliation and facial cleansing.

Another issue is the waiting time for the visible effect of epilation - the mechanical method gives results immediately (although it is highly likely that skin irritation can be expected within a few hours after the procedure), and the effect of epilation has to wait much longer. IPL hair removal - several weeks. It's also worth considering how long you can wait for longer hair to grow out before it can be epilated. The mechanical method requires a length of several millimeters.

There are many methods of hair removal available on the market, from the traditional, fastest, but at the same time the least permanent, using a razor, patches and epilators, to laser hair removal. The first one is painless and gives immediate effect, but usually you have to repeat the procedure every day during your morning shower. The mechanical or hot wax method requires some sacrifice (growing hair to the right length), can be painful and - in the case of those with delicate, sensitive skin - cause irritation or unsightly "spider veins", but it gives an impressive effect. which can last up to 6 weeks! Thus, the choice of method depends on individual preferences and the time that you can devote to regular procedures - at home or in a beauty salon.
