The VAZ 2107 car has been considered a classic of the Volga Automobile Plant for many years. The car was modified and optimized many times, but until 2012, all of its varieties were equipped with carburetor engines. Therefore, it is so important for car owners to know the basic nuances of the carburetor and the possibility of replacing it with another mechanism, if such a replacement is required.
Carburetor VAZ 2107
In the 1970s, it was important for the designers of AvtoVAZ to create a new, easy-to-operate and reliable car. They did it - the "seven" is actively used on the roads today, which speaks of its high quality and unpretentious maintenance.
The plant produced cars with both carburetor and injection units. However, it is the two-chamber emulsion carburetor that is considered the classic standard of equipment for this model. After all, this is the only way to achieve simplicity and ease of use.
The standard equipment of the VAZ 2107 in the Soviet Union meant the installation of 1,5 or 1,6 liter carburetors. The maximum output power of the unit was 75 horsepower. Like all Soviet cars, the VAZ 2107 was fueled with AI-92 gasoline.
The carburetor itself on the "seven" had a very modest size with a weight of three kilograms:

- width - 18,5 cm;
- height - 21,5 cm.

Carburettors from another VAZ model
It is noteworthy that on the "seven" you can install carburetors from both previous and subsequent VAZ series. At the same time, it will not be necessary to modify or alter existing mounts and landing sites: the units are almost identical in size. In some cases, there may be minor connection problems, but they are easy to fix.
DAAZ
The carburetor of the Dimitrovgrad Auto-Aggregate Plant is the first unit that was equipped with the VAZ 2107. I must say that the first carburetors were produced under license from the Italian company Weber, and then they were repeatedly modified to meet the needs of the domestic auto industry. Structurally, DAAZ products are very simple, so cars with such carburetors were cheaper than analogues with other installations. In addition, the seat for the carburetor in the engine compartment of the "seven" was originally created specifically for DAAZ, so any version of this mechanism was ideal for it. On the VAZ 2107, modifications DAAZ 2101-1107010 and DAAZ 2101-1107010-02 can be installed.
The DAAZ carburetor consists of two chambers and is equipped with a mechanical drive for the damper of the first chamber. It can be installed on any domestic rear-wheel drive car. Volume - 1, 5 and 1,6 liters. Depending on the year of manufacture, the unit may be equipped with a microswitch and a remote (i.e. external) solenoid valve.
DAAZ carburetors required a fairly large consumption of gasoline (up to 10 liters per 100 kilometers), but they could give excellent speed characteristics when overtaking and driving on highways.
"Ozone"
The Ozone carburetor is a modified and optimized version of DAAZ. The mechanism had improved environmental performance and consumed significantly less fuel (about 7-8 liters per 100 kilometers). For the "seven" the following versions of "Ozone" are considered the best option:
- 2107-1107010;
- 2107-1107010-20;
- 2140-1107010.
"Ozone" was equipped with a pneumatic valve for the efficiency of the second dosing chamber. When accelerating, the car really had good maneuverability and dynamism, however, at the slightest dusting of the valve, the second chamber simply stopped working, which immediately affected the speed characteristics of the car.
The carburetor installation "Ozone" is almost identical to DAAZ and has the same parameters and elements. The difference lies only in the modernization of the float chamber and valves.
The Ozone carburetor does not differ in size from DAAZ, and therefore can be installed on a VAZ 2107 of any year of manufacture without any problems.
Solex
"Solex" is currently the newest design development of the engineers of the Dimitrovgrad plant. The carburetor of this model is quite complicated structurally, besides it is equipped with a fuel return system. It was she who made the Solex the most economical carburetor among the entire DAAZ product line.
The carburetor mechanism has a volume of 1.8 liters and is characterized by high throughput due to modifications to the jets. Therefore, Solex is economical and optimized for fast driving. The Solex 2107-21083, which was originally created for front-wheel drive models, can be installed on the VAZ 1107010 without modifications.

With significant fuel savings, Solex also reduces the toxicity of emissions. The main disadvantage of this carburetor is that it is very demanding on the quality of the fuel being poured.
"Baker"
On the instructions of the Dimitrovgrad Automotive Plant, new models of carburetors began to be assembled in the workshops of the Leningrad Plant. "Pekar" has become a more efficient analogue of the entire DAAZ line: with high build quality and reliability of small parts, the carburetor has become much cheaper, which made it possible to reduce the cost of new VAZ 2107 models.
The Pekar carburetor is completely identical to the Ozon and DAAZ models in terms of dimensions, but differs significantly from them in terms of performance: the mechanism is more durable and unpretentious. The fuel consumption and environmental friendliness of the installation are quite in line with current standards. On the "seven" are mounted "Pekary" of two types: 2107-1107010 and 2107-1107010-20.
Thus, on the "seven" you can put a carburetor from any other VAZ model - the procedure will not cause difficulties during installation and unpleasant consequences during operation. However, you need to take into account the output of the car in order to choose the best option for a carburetor installation.

Carburetor from a foreign car
Motorists often think that an imported carburetor for a domestic car will immediately solve all problems with fuel consumption and speed of movement. It must be understood that the carburetor from a foreign car most often does not fit the “seven” in terms of its dimensions and joints - you can install it, but you will need to spend time on improvements and alterations.

Single-chamber Italian webbers become normal, but it makes no sense, there are 2-chamber webbers and solexes that fit in the mounts, you can install other foreign ones through a special spacer.
