Canyon: a bizarre concept halfway between bike and electric car

The German manufacturer has posted on its website several images of "FUTURE MOBILITY CONCEPT," a small, four-wheeled pedal cart. The car is driven by an electric motor, which is only intended to assist the driver.

The Canyon concept is presented in the form of a capsule that can accommodate both an adult and a child up to 1,40 m tall, or one piece of luggage. The concept of the project is based on recumbent bicycles. Even if the car is claustrophobic, it can be opened while driving, for example in hot weather.

Base speed 25 km / h According to the regulations, the strange Canyon car also has a "road mode" capable of speeds up to 60 km / h. Autonomy has also been tested at this speed and should be around 150 km.

The dimensions of the concept are rather small: 2,30 m long, 0,83 m wide and 1,68 m high. The goal is to get around the bike paths without any problems. The “FUTURE MOBILITY CONCEPT” does exist and can be seen at the Canyon showroom in Koblenz, Germany. At this stage, the manufacturer does not disclose either the price or the date of entry to the market.
