Kawasaki ZRX 1100

The introduction to superbikes is just to illustrate how far the origins of the muscles and engines that go by the names XJR, GSX, possibly CBR and our current ZRX part have gone. I drove this Kawasaki in France, it was new and owned by a French agent Kawasaki. But I would be happier if I was offered a car in the green jungle from Lawson, not black.

The beautiful plastic athletes of the last decade have taught us uncomfortable racing positions, rather demanding driving characteristics and, of course, competent care. Sometimes it was different.

The plastic is the minimal armor around the hard rectangular headlights and thighs around the seat. That's why the black-painted engine, a dainty piece of metal with 16 valves, beautifully illuminated ribs and a powerful exhaust system, attracts attention in the first place. This suggests about 100 hp. and about 100 Nm of torque. The 1052 cubic meter machine looks air-cooled but is bathed in water.

If the production version seems obscene to you, you can look for ZZ-R and Akrapovic tailpipes, Dynojet injectors. ... I think we will also aim for 150 horsepower. The inline-four comes from the ultra-fast ZZ-R1100, except it has fuller low to mid-range traction and a five-speed, hydraulically controlled clutch gearbox that doesn't require a forestry lever.

How much less 280 km / h flies, I do not know, because at 220 km / h my pockets were ripped off, and I wanted to tear my wrongly fitted enduro jacket. The maximum speed in this case, of course, does not play a significant role, because the aerodynamic protection is minimal. It takes into account how effectively the beast spits you out for the next turn.

Even the double closed tubular frame is clearly visible, and the bold classic (adjustable) suspension is also clearly visible, revealing the six-piston calipers on 310mm discs. Isn't a pair of classic Kayaba shocks on tubular forks of racing glory a feast for the eyes?

Curled up in a wide seat, you'll find that 750 cc cars. See - these are mopeds. A beautifully designed fuel tank between your legs, yes, like the roof of a car. Well, such a machine is not a keel, although it weighs 222 kg in dry form. It sits very well and the steering wheel could be even flatter. But what a nuisance.

When I tuned the suspension to a more dull performance, I was king of the coastal and mountain roads. There is no need for high speeds at the top of the corner, which also require a sense of contact with the road and risk, it needs the devil to move smoothly when you turn on the throttle. And this quack moves ballistically. And doesn't require driving. Forgive some hesitation when entering a corner, do not protest if you touch the brake lever in the middle of a corner.

Until the driver's license is revoked, the air resistance remains acceptable. And it’s not so difficult to cut yourself along the pier if you stumble upon a hole in the asphalt. It's a useful motorcycle - even for two.

I heard that the real buyer of such a car is a middle-aged man with a supposedly successful career behind him. He also has an orderly relationship with his wife. Read the last one if you like.
