Kia. Koreans showed a new generation military vehicle
Kia Corporation - this year at the International Defense Industry Exhibition (IDEX) in the United Arab Emirates, the largest international exhibition of its kind in the Middle East and Africa - is presenting a lightweight tactical vehicle concept and chassis for chassis.
A car of this type is an important element of the defense system of any army. Kia has been supplying it to the South Korean army since 2016. The new four-seater light truck unveiled at IDEX has a bold design and is equipped with a compartment for transporting soldiers and weapons.
At IDEX, in addition to the Light Tactical Cargo Truck concept, Kia is also showing an integrated chassis that can be used to build other types of armored vehicles. The transmission and the solid frame give an idea of the possible applications of this platform.

Kia IDEX's commitment this year is by far the biggest. This region is seen as a key market for military equipment. Kia took part in IDEX for the first time in 2015. At this year's show, Kia shares exhibition space with its subsidiary Hyundai Rotem Co.
Kia Light Tactical Truck
The Light Tactical Cargo Truck concept was developed by the Kia brand in close cooperation with the government administration, which is creating a national defense development program. The modular chassis allows the vehicle to be offered in a standard version and as a model with an extended wheelbase, as well as in armored and unarmored versions, vehicles for tactical control and terrain reconnaissance, armed vehicles and much more.
The XNUMX-cab light tactical cargo vehicle was developed for the needs of the armed forces and provides excellent mobility in difficult terrain, as well as durability and functionality in all conditions. An unarmored vehicle with a long wheelbase can be equipped with a superstructure that can be adapted to different needs, such as a cargo box, a mobile workshop or a communications center. The vehicle can carry ten fully armed soldiers and up to three tons of cargo in the rear.
The Kia Light Tactical Cargo Truck is equipped with a 225 hp Euro 5 diesel engine, four-wheel drive is transmitted through a modern 8-speed automatic transmission. The truck is equipped with independent suspension, air conditioning, low friction differential, run-flat tires and electromagnetic traction control.
