Short test: Ford Focus ST-Line 2.0 TDCI

Ford calls the sportiest versions ST, so you might think the ST-Line designation is a bit misleading. But this is really only at first glance, because they put a lot of effort into the choice of equipment and with just a few accessories created a slightly different character of the car than what the Titanium label offers. First of all, the look is what sets it apart from the rest of the Focuses as it has different bumpers. Other things that make it different are, of course, the lightweight 15-spoke wheels, contrast-stitched front sports seats, a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, a shift lever and a few other small touches.

Surprise with comfort while driving, even though it has received a sportier suspension, so together with its excellent position on the road, it really gives the driver a lot of driving pleasure. The engine is definitely powerful enough, though the 150-litre turbodiesel is “just” a regular XNUMX “horsepower” one. That said, it's worth noting that "thirst" was also moderate, and average intake at our rate was less conclusive.

Of course, we also found a few less interesting features. The fairly wide front end of the center console is even more annoying while driving. The touchscreen for many functions is conveniently located for the driver to notice the messages and data on it with a quick glance, but it is quite remote, so you need to help yourself by driving with your palm on the bottom of the screen. display border. The width of the console also gets in the way, which reduces room for the driver's right foot. Otherwise, the Focus proves to be a very useful and well thought out vehicle, and there are no signs that its lifespan is nearing the end.
