Short test: Honda Jazz 1.4i Elegance

It's hard to blame Jazz for anything, just the price could be more competitive... The design is still fresh and recognizable (also thanks to the new headlights and a mask of the car, which he received just three years after the presentation), the one-room room is spoiled with spaciousness, there is a lot of equipment, and the quality of workmanship is at the highest level.

If you remember hybrid jazz testwhich we published in issue 13 this year, we blew our nose a bit about CVT and fuel economy. The petrol sibling test confirms what we were writing at the time: Why would we listen to the noise of a CVT when Honda has one of the best manual transmissions on the market? The gear lever is lowered quickly and precisely between gears for a truly enjoyable right-handed operation. The only drawback is short gear ratios.as the engine rotates at 3.800 rpm after the highway speed limit. In sixth gear, I would have gotten a clean A in elementary school, so we'll only give him four.

Classic is more economical than hybrid

While the hybrid car with a gasoline engine and an electric motor consumed 7,6 liters, The 1,4-liter gasoline brother of the classic construction drank 7,4 liters.... Thus, the latest technological miracle is worse than the good old gasoline engine, which again suggests that Honda's (classic) technology is one of the best. This is not surprising, is it?

The design of a studio apartment offers a lot of space.

It comes with a roof with a panoramic view even more so to express. It is a pity that the car did not have parking sensors, given the city wanderings, we would definitely remember them. We resented the plastic on the center console for the versatile dash design, but otherwise praised the drink slots (just below the vents for effective cooling in summer) and good equipment. Yes, and also safety, as it has four airbags, two curtains and a VSA stabilization system. In the city, the Jazz is very elegant, and on country roads it is nimble enough that overtaking tractors or slower drivers on Sundays is not a problem. While the hybrid may have been disappointing, the petrol sibling - despite its age and price - is a solid choice. More.

evaluation

  • The Honda Jazz continues to be a very competitive vehicle despite being beaten for years and kept under the strong Japanese yen. However, with technique and quality of workmanship, he can still be a role model.
