All SUVs Mazda Sedans Hatchbacks Wagons Sports cars Minivans Electric cars This company was founded in 1920 by Japanese industrialist and businessman Jujiro Matsuda. The company was originally called Toyo Cork Kogyo and made cork products, but was renamed Mazda in 1931. The name of this brand is consonant with Matsuda, but comes from the name of the god of wisdom, reason and harmony Ahura Mazda. The first car in the history of this company was a small three-wheeled Mazdago truck, which appeared in 1931. However, the first full-fledged car under the Mazda brand appeared only in 1960 - it was a two-door R360 sedan. Over the course of its history, this automobile company has produced more than 50 million cars. The company has three factories in Japan and 18 factories outside of it (USA, South Korea, India, South Africa, Thailand, Belgium, Vietnam, Malaysia…). The modern emblem of the brand, which appeared in 1997, was a stylized letter "M", reminiscent of the wings of a seagull. Today the company sells its products in 120 countries around the world, producing more than 1,2 million vehicles a year. The modern Mazda slogan - "Zoom-Zoom" - comes from the English word "zoom", which means "to rise" and "grow".
