The largest battery factories in the world - Kobierzice in 8th place in 2020! [MAP]

Here is a list of the world's largest lithium-ion battery factories. China's CATL will be the leader in 2020, followed by Tesla and Lishen. Poland will take 8th place thanks to the LG Chem plant near Wroclaw, which is expected to produce 8 GWh of cells per year.

The schedule is about a year old and there have been no updates lately., but still allows you to see where the production of electrical cells is concentrated. The largest plant belongs to the Chinese CATL, which plans to produce 2020 GWh of cells in 50. In second place will be Tesla (35 GWh), in third - Lishen with 20 GWh cells. The Korean company LG Chem (18 GWh) will take the fourth place, BYD (12 GWh) - the fifth.

Kobierzyce, near Wroclaw, with a planned production of 5 GWh batteries, will take eighth place.... LG Chem cells will go mainly to Volkswagen vehicles, including Audi, Porsche and VW. If they were used in the Nissan Leaf, annual production at a plant near Wroclaw would be enough to produce 200-40 Nissan LEAF XNUMX kWh.

Not all data is publicly available, but LG Chem already says it wants to produce up to 2020 GWh of electrical cells in 90. Production forecasts have been raised twice in the last year alone! This assumes that all the numbers on the card should be multiplied by 1,5-3 to get the actual manufacturers' plans.

> LG Chem raises plans for cell production. More in 2020 than the entire market in 2015!
