BMW is discontinuing production of its famous electric scooter, the C Evolution, to make way for its futuristic successor: the BMW CE 04. You will find more and more used C Evolutions on the market. Two versions 

BMW offers its electric scooter in 2 versions:

Standard

  • Power is limited to 11 kW (15 hp)
  • Speed ​​limit up to 120 km / h.
  • Can drive with A1 license
  • Average autonomy 100 km

Long range

  • Power 19 kW (26 HP)
  • The speed can reach 129 km / h.
  • Higher license required: A2
  • Autonomy 160 km in an urban environment

Battery and autonomy

The Li-ion battery in the BMW C Evolution is non-removable. Has a fan-assisted air cooling system. Since 2017, the cell capacity is 94 Ah instead of 64 Ah. It is enough to increase the flight range from 100 to 160 kilometers on a single charge.

On average consumption, the manufacturer claims 9 kWh / 100 km and battery warranty 5 years or 50 km.

C Evolution offers four driving modes, reverse gear et energy recovery system connected to engine brake and ABS braking. Recovery occurs automatically when decelerating, just like braking.

Regarding the driving modes: 

  1. Mode " Дорога »Provides maximum acceleration, approximately 50% deceleration recovery and maximum deceleration recovery. 
  2. IN " Eco Pro ”, Acceleration and therefore energy consumption are limited. This allows for maximum recovery. 
  3. IN " Sail ”, Energy Recovery is not activated during deceleration and the C Evolution continues coasting. 
  4. Full acceleration is associated with intense energy recovery in ” dynamic .

The scooter accepts load up to 16A... It reaches 80% recharge in 2 hours 10 minutes for the standard version and in 3 hours 00 minutes for the Long Range version. To fully charge from 0 to 100%, count down respectively 3 hours and 4:10 for each version. Charging time depends on electricity source or Wallbox availability. 

Marketing and price of the new BMW C Evolution

Introduced to the market since 2014, BMW will cease production of the C Evolution electric scooter in 2020. This latest new model starts at 15 euros for the standard version. For the Long Range version, the BMW C Evolution is priced at 700 euros. Prices excluding government assistance.
