Sian was Lamborghini's first step into the era of hybrids.

Lamborghini gave in to the inevitable and announced its plans to electrify its entire lineup for the next decade.

Following the Sian mild-hybrid coupe introduced in September 2019, Lamborghini will expand its hybrid lineup with a new model in 2023.

It is expected to be a plug-in hybrid version of the Urus super-SUV, likely a beefed-up powertrain version of the sister Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid that combines a common 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine and an electric motor. .

And then, by 2025, the entry-level supercar replacements Huracan and Aventador will debut with some form of electrification, with the latest kit retaining the famous V12 for at least another generation.

But the big news is what's happening in the second half of this decade: Lamborghini's first all-electric supercar, as well as others that are otherwise shrouded in mystery.

However, the hybrid push alone will help Lamborghini cut carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 50 percent by 2025.

Needless to say, Raging Bull has a lot going on this decade, so stay tuned. Time will tell if the €1.5 billion investment pays off.
