Low beam bulbs Renault Sandero

Low beam bulbs Renault Sandero

Replacing lamps in the lighting engineering of any car is not such a difficult task as contacting a service station about this. In confirmation of this, today we will independently replace the dipped beam with Renault Sandero.

Differences between headlights on different generations of Renault Sandero and Stepway

The Renault Sandero, like its closest relative Logan (formally Sandero is not part of the Logan family, although it uses its chassis), has two generations, each of which is equipped with its own block headlights.

As for the Renault Sandero Stepway (there is a Sandero in every generation), they borrowed the headlights from their counterparts of the corresponding generation: simple Sanderos.

Thus, everything that will be written about replacing the headlights in Renault Sandero's headlights is also true for the Stepway of the corresponding generation.

What kind of low beam lamp is needed

Like the Renault Logan, the first and second generation Sanderos have different types of incandescent bulbs. In the first generation, the manufacturer supplied a device that combined high and low beams. It has an H4 base.

The same lamp is on the Stepways of this generation. The disadvantage of the design is that if one of the coils burns out, then the entire device will have to be changed, even though the second thread seems to be working. The second generation has a slightly different block headlight, in which different lamps are responsible for high and low beams. Both are equipped with H7 sockets. Hence Stepway II has the same.

Suitable as a replacement for LED light sources. They are 8 times cheaper than conventional incandescent lamps and last about 10 times longer. The first generation Sandero (Stepway) needs H4 solid state light bulbs.

Replacement methods - simple and not very

In both generations of cars, the manufacturer offers a rather laborious algorithm for replacing headlight bulbs:

  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2. We disassemble the protective cover of the headlight corrector, and in most modifications, the bumper.
  3. We remove the headlight itself, for which we unscrew the screws of its fastening and turn off the power + corrector cable.
  4. Remove the protective cover from the back of the headlight.
  5. We remove the low beam power supply (high / low beam for Sandero I.
  6. We remove the rubber boot (first generation).
  7. Press the spring clip and remove the bulb.
  8. We install a new light bulb and assemble the car, performing all the steps in the reverse order.

This is not something to change, here you get tired of reading. But replacing a low beam bulb on a Renault Sandero including a Stepway can be much easier and no tools are needed for this. The only thing, if a halogen light source is installed, you need to stock up on clean cotton gloves or a piece of cotton cloth.

Let's start with Renault Sandero first generation. There are no problems with the right headlight at all. We open the engine compartment, get to the back of the headlight and remove the protective cover of the high / low beam hatch by pressing on its lock.

Before us is a rubber cover and a lamp power supply (cartridge). First, remove the block by simply pulling on it, and then the barrel.

Now you can clearly see the light bulb pressed by the spring clip. We press the latch and recline it.

Now the low / high beam can be easily removed.

We take it out, install a new one in its place, fix it with a spring clip, put the boot, power supply and protective cover in place.

If you are going to install a halogen lamp, then first put on clean gloves - you can’t take a halogen bulb with your bare hands!

Do the same for the left headlight. But in order to get to the headlight on the left block, you need to remove the battery.

Now let's move on to the second generation Renault Sandero (including the Stepway II). We will not follow the recommendations of French engineers and blow the car to pieces, but simply repeat almost the same manipulations as on the Renault Sandero I. The differences will be as follows:

  1. A separate hatch is provided for the low beam lamp. If you look in the direction of the car, then on the right headlight it is on the left (closer to the Renault central axis) and on the left to the right.
  2. Under the protective cover, which instead of a latch has a tongue that you just need to pull, there is no other.
  3. The lamp is used with an H7 base, not with an H4 base (see the paragraph "Which low beam lamp is needed").
  4. The light bulb is held not on a spring clip, but on three latches.

Therefore, remove the protective cover, pull out the power supply, slide the bulb down until it clicks and pull it out. We install a new one, simply pressing until it clicks, connect the unit, put on the cover.

Unlocking the radio

Since we disconnected the battery in the process of changing the lamps, the car's head unit was blocked (anti-theft protection on all Renaults). How to unlock:

  • we turn on the radio, which at first glance works as usual, but a strange squeal is constantly heard in the speakers;
  • waiting a few minutes. The audio system turns off, and a prompt appears on the screen to enter an unlock code;

A message asking you to enter an unlock key

  • open the service book and find the desired four-digit code;Low beam bulbs Renault Sandero

    The unlock code for the audio system is indicated in the service book
  • enter this code using radio keys 1-4. In this case, each key is responsible for its own code digit, and the numbering of the digits of the category is carried out by successively pressing the corresponding key;
  • hold down the key with the number "6". If everything is done correctly, after 5 seconds the radio will be unlocked.

What to do if the unlock code is lost? And there is a way out of this situation, which, by the way, nullifies all attempts of designers to secure equipment from theft:

  • we take out the radio from the panel and find a sticker on which the four-digit PRE code is indicated: one letter and three numbers;

Low beam bulbs Renault Sandero

PRE code for this radio is V363

  • take this code and go here;
  • register for free, start the code generator and enter the PRE-code. In response, we receive an unlock code, which we enter into the radio.

Healthy. Some radios give out the PRE code after you hold down keys 1 and 6.

Now you know how to replace low beam bulbs on a Renault Sandero, and you can do this small repair of your car yourself without overpaying "specialists" for a smart facial expression.
