We treat the rattling of the gearshift lever on the Lada Kalina

I own Lada Kalina Universal for more than one year, and during this time there were several unpleasant squeaks and rattles. But the most annoying thing was the constant bounce of the gearshift lever, especially when you release the gas pedal at speed, the noise is on the entire cabin. Having traveled this way for several months, I got tired of all this and decided to cure this problem.

Before that, a few months ago I read that it is problematic to eliminate these sounds, since you will have to put some kind of gasket in the place where the lever is attached. But still I made up my mind, and by the way, everything went much faster and without installing any gaskets there. He easily removed the cap from the gearshift lever of his Kalina, on which the gearshift diagram is depicted, and for some reason decided that the reason for the rattling was precisely in this top cover. I took a small piece of electrical tape, cut off a very thin strip no more than 3 millimeters wide and as long as the diameter of this cover.

And he wrapped the inside of this cover with this thin tape of electrical tape. And that's all, all the work to eliminate the creak and rattling of the gearshift lever has been eliminated. We put this top cover in place, now it fits tightly and does not spin freely, as it was before our simple revision. We check everything in practice, we accelerate the car and release the gas pedal, and listen. If there is no more rattling, then congratulations, you got off with only a small piece of electrical tape. If, after these changes, nothing happens anyway and the extraneous sounds have not disappeared, then most likely you will have to look for some kind of washer in size and install it in the place where the gearbox lever is attached.
