Summer promotion: Riding a motorcycle in hot weather.

Tired of suffocating in summer under your gear? Instead of neglecting your equipment, there are solutions to reduce the heat in the middle of summer.

Tip 1. Open the vents on the helmet.

Even if there are no specially designed summer and winter helmets, most of them have ventilation holes. In extreme heat, open the ventilation holes well to use the outside air.

If you can remove the lather from your helmet, feel free to wash it more regularly for hygiene reasons.

Even in summer, it is preferable to ride in a full face helmet, as jet helmets do not provide enough protection for the face, especially the jaw.

To protect your eyes from the sun, you can replace the transparent screen with a tinted one.

Tip # 2: use mesh textiles.

If a helmet is a must, the jacket is often neglected in the summer and many bikers and scooters ride barehanded.

However, there are textiles specially designed for summer with large mesh panels and good ventilation.

For heavy riders, textile jackets are very versatile, 2 or 3 in 1. For example, the Ixon Cross Air jacket has a warm and waterproof lining in case of rain with an attached Drymesh membrane for winter or winter. However, it is also impeccable in terms of ventilation thanks to modular valves on the mesh panels on the chest and back. The sleeves also have ventilation zippers for maximum ventilation.

Tip 3: special summer gloves

As for the jacket, the manufacturers have thought of summer gloves! Summer gloves are often more ventilated, made of lighter material, and with short cuffs to avoid choking the wrists. The leather gloves are perforated and the textiles are very breathable and lightweight.

Tip # 4: forget about shorts and flip flops!

You must completely forget to drive in shorts and flip flops, especially in the south of France! As for the legs, the minimum is classic jeans or motorcycle jeans that have hip and knee protectors... As with jackets, there are textile motorcycle trousers with good ventilation for those who like to travel long kilometers. This is the case of the Ixon Cross Air pants to match with Cross Air dress quoted above.

For feet that often fall prey to heat, many motorcycle boots or running shoes are vented to prevent overheating of the foot. The Furygan Jet Air D3O sneaker has multiple ventilated panels for excellent ventilation of the shoe.

Tip 5: think about the small details

Be sure to wear a lightweight neck strap to keep small animals out of your jacket.

Also, remember to be well hydrated, keep track of your fluids and tire pressure.

Give us your little personal advice for a great summer motorcycle ride!
