It is an intelligent power-assist system installed by Lancia to improve the perception of the vehicle's lateral dynamics.

In the case of sporty driving, if the system detects more lateral acceleration (starting at 0,6 g), it intervenes to provide an increase in steering torque. So it definitely improves the car's dominance when cornering, especially at high speeds.
