The best films about cars in the history of cinema [Part 2]

We recently offered you movie list about cars, but that was not all. In continuation of this topic, we publish films that are worth watching if you love car chases or you just like chic cars.

Car (1977) - 6.2/10

A cult horror film in which a black car strikes fear and horror in the small American town of Santa Ynez. It appears that the car was possessed by satanic spirits when it destroyed anyone in front of it. He even moves into houses. The only one who resists is the sheriff, who tries to stop him with all his might. 

The film, which lasts 1 hour and 36 minutes, is directed by Eliot Silverstein. As you can imagine, it received very bad reviews, but it's on our list for historical reasons.

Driver (1978) - 7.2/10

Back to the Future (1985) - 8.5/10

The film that made the DeLorean DMC-12 famous around the world revolves around the idea of ​​a four-wheeled time machine. Teen Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, travels by chance from 1985 to 1955 and meets his parents-to-be. There, the eccentric scientist Dr. Emmett (Christopher Lloyd) helps him go back to the future.

Days of Thunder (1990) - 6,0/10

Action movie starring Tom Cruise as Cole Trickle, a race car driver in the Nascar Championship. The film, which is 1 hour and 47 minutes long, was directed by Tony Scott. Critics didn't really appreciate this film. On a positive note: this is the first movie to feature Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.

Taxi (1998) – 7,0 / 10

A French comedy that follows the adventures of Daniel Morales, the most capable but risky taxi driver (played by Sami Natseri), who does not respect the road code at all. At the push of a button, the white Peugeot 406 acquires a range of aerodynamic aids and becomes a racing car.

The film is 1 hour 26 minutes long. Filmed by Gerard Pires and written by Luc Besson. The subsequent years were followed by sequels Taxi 2 (2000), Taxi 3 (2003), Taxi 4 (2007) and Taxi 5 (2018), which could not be better than the first part.

Fasting and Fury (2001) - 6,8/10

The first film in the Fast & Furious series was released in 2001 under the title "Street Fighters" and focused on illegal high-speed racing and improved cars. The case concerns undercover police officer Brian O'Conner, played by Paul Walker, in an attempt to arrest a gang that steal cars and goods.  Carrier (2002) - 6,8/10

Another action movie in which the car plays a major role. Frank Martin - played by Jason Statham - is a Special Forces veteran who takes on the job of a driver who transports packages for special clients. Luc Besson, who created this film, was inspired by the BMW short film "The Hire"

The film was directed by Louis Leterrier and Corey Yuen and is 1 hour 32 minutes long. The box office success came from Transporter 2 (2005), Transporter 3 (2008), and a reboot titled The Transporter Refueled (2015) starring Ed Skrein.

Accomplice (2004) - 7,5/10

Directed by Michael Mann and starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. The script, written by Stuart Beatty, tells how taxi driver Max Durocher takes Vincent, a contract killer, to the race track and, under pressure, takes him to different parts of Los Angeles for various tasks.

The two-hour film received rave reviews and was nominated for an Oscar in several categories.
