Maxus EV80 - tester's impressions. The rest will wait until June, only 1 copy for Poland

One of our Readers wrote to us, who was interested in checking the Maxus EV80 for its activity. It turned out that there is only one trial copy in Poland, which had just been sent to Poczta Polska for three months. Yes, there are 200 more, but they are in ... Germany. Therefore, we decided to share our impressions of another tester: Tomasz from Quriers.

Recall: Maxus EV80 is manufactured by the Chinese company SAIC. The cargo space is 10,2 cubic meters, and the maximum carrying capacity, including passengers, is 950 kg. The only specimen we mentioned, available in our country, has just been tested in Poczta Polska.

Mr. Tomasz has already experienced this model and, he says, has mixed feelings. He liked how big and sturdy he was, but he was very surprised that With a 56 kWh battery, the winter power reserve of the car was only 120 km.... The downside was also the download speed that went through KSS was only 23 kWso it is almost twice as slow as the power we are used to in passenger cars.

Another problem is the lack of a final price: Hitachi Capital Polska only offers a car for long-term rental. Meanwhile, in Germany, it is easy to buy a car at retail - there it costs 47,5 thousand euros.

However, in its weight class, Maxus has no equal yet, because ... the only one. All other cars with similar dimensions - Renault Master ZE, Volkswagen e-Crafter, Mercedes eVito - are just entering the market. Their problem is even smaller batteries, so on a single charge they are unlikely to outperform the Chinese competitor. The situation is changing very slowly, and the first heralds of the thaw are ABT e-Transport and Volkswagen Multivan T6.1:

> The Volkswagen Multivan 6.1 electric will go on sale in the fall of 2019. Range? 400 km NEDC. Finally!

If anyone is looking for a faster delivery vehicle that will be available almost immediately, they will have a Renault Kangoo ZE, Nissan e-NV200 or Nissan e-NV200 with a body designed by Slovak company Voltia. The latter offers 8 cubic meters of space and a load capacity of 600 kg.
