Mazda CX-3 CD105 AWD Revolution Navi

It's hard to say that anyone doesn't like the looks of the Mazda CX-3. At least I don't know anyone, and during the test, all observers who don't need to keep their opinions to themselves said that this is one of the most beautiful small crossovers on Slovenian roads. Although it inherited a lot of technology from the Mazda2 (about 80 percent), it successfully hides this affinity as it would rather be squeezed out side-by-side with the larger CX-5 than with the smaller Mazda. This is a good thing.

Compared to the Mazda2, the four centimeters higher driving position is suitable for both young and especially older people who find it more difficult to get into lower cars and prefer to simply slip out of their seats. This is why crossovers are popular with gray-haired buyers as well, although one would expect the sporty body movements of the CX-3 to be too noticeable for them. But the higher center of gravity also means that the engineers had to stiffen the chassis to prevent the body and living contents from tipping or even bouncing off the road, making the CX-3 not suitable for family use. We can't say if the 18-inch wheels have anything to do with this, but we can confirm that the road position is also average due to the rougher tires.

Despite all-wheel drive. If we can say that the engine is economical despite being harsh (just look at our consumption!), and the six-speed manual transmission is pleasant to drive (precise and fast), then all-wheel drive is one of those that brings you to the top of a snowy hill. but it doesn't make them happy. Too little torque is being redistributed to the rear wheels to help the back of the front when cornering, so on a slippery corner you will notice that the front of the car that wants to go out of the corner needs to be tamed. It's safe, but annoying. The engine, along with a gearbox that has a decidedly shorter gear ratio despite only 77 kilowatts, which is impressive in city driving as there is more than enough torque and we were slightly less impressed by the noise on the highway, as at 130 kilometers in an hour is too long. However, this does not apply to city driving: if you are not careful, immediately take into account that under the hood there is a gasoline engine, which in Mazda (their specialty) is without a turbocharger.

When you add two-tone leather upholstery, a head-up screen, navigation with beautiful graphics, additional seat heating, lane-keeping assist, smart key, xenon headlights, cruise control, a rearview camera, etc., we come to know that you are do not. grow to your heart just for the sake of good looks. The cabin is also nice.

evaluation

  • Forget a stiffer chassis and a little more noise at 130 kilometers per hour: this Mazda CX-3 is a car that will soon get closer to you, as it has enough room for four adults plus a good amount of luggage.
