Mazda MX-30 Electric Car Review Autogefuehl

From the first contact with the car, you can see how the Mazda MX-30 made an impression at the premiere - opening doors in the style of the Mazda RX-8 or BMW i3, almost 90 degrees forward in front and small rear ones that open back.

The interior can be upholstered in plastic, recycled fabric in a distinctive gray color, cork or imitation leather. The exception is the steering wheel, which is covered with genuine leather. The color combinations look beautiful, the materials are pleasant to the touch and give the impression of quality.

Reviewer Autogefuehl used the word "cozy" and concluded that the comfort of the interior puts the MX-30 between the Mazda 3 and the Mazda CX-30.

The cockpit is Mazda style, quite traditional with a lot of buttons.

Standard equipment includes lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and head-up display (HUD). Standard equipment is also included. without touch Dashboard display 8,8 inches. The decision may be unpopular, but it is reasonable given that the screen is too far away to fumble with your fingers while driving.

The exact same problem occurs with the BMW i3. Here, too, the on-screen parameters were controlled by a knob located near the driver's right thigh.

The back seat has three head restraints, so it is three-seater. However, it was difficult for the reviewer (a man with a height of 186 cm) to fit on it. Presumably, quite small people or just children will go in the rear.

Driving experience

On first contact, the car looks exactly like a Mazda of comparable dimensions. It is only after some time that the lower center of gravity becomes noticeable due to the heavy battery in the floor of the machine. The MX-30 appears to be more maneuverable than its fuel counterparts. The car may resemble a sports car with firm steering movements.

An interesting feature recoverywhich turns on after the strongest mode automatic mechanism that also activates the radar... Then the driving mode switches to Dand the vehicle selects the regenerative braking power in accordance with the engine in front. On Hyundai and Kia, the option is activated by holding the right steering wheel switch.

The car consumed approx. 13 kWh / 100 km (130 Wh / km). On the highway at a speed of 140+ km / h, the value quickly increased to 17 kWh / 100 km, then it was no longer visible. Thus, we can assume that by how much in the city, weather permitting, a car can travel up to 240-250 km on a single charge.normally it will be 210-220 km.

And if the battery runs on an 80-> 10 percent cycle, the values drop to 170 kilometers in the city and 150 kilometers in mixed mode.

The sound of the "combustion engine" that reviewers experienced in early models was muted and modulated here, rather than the rumble of exploding fuel in the cylinders. The soundproofing of the passenger compartment was very good, although above 130 km / h the air noise began to reach the passenger compartment. He was not dominant, the reviewer did not raise his voice much.

The journalist praised the car for its driving performance more than once, often recalling the small battery and the range for driving around the city and its environs. According to the editors of www.elektrowoz.pl, we can add that these driving characteristics are at least partly due to the shortened battery. Less battery capacity means less stress on the cooling system and less vehicle weight, making the vehicle easier to design for agility.
