McLaren presents the car of the future

Although Formula One cars continue to be ahead of the rest of the automotive and motorcycle industry in terms of automotive innovation, McLaren has chosen to present a bold concept design that shows a highly revolutionary vision for this type of vehicle.

The MP4-X is much more than an annual showcase of new models - it's a bold step into the future. Formula 1 is the proving ground for the automotive industry, where changes, modifications and tests have typically taken years to evolve. Many solutions that have been tested in racing, from year to year gradually come into use, first in high-class cars, and then go into mass production. The MP4-X is first and foremost an electric car.

However, it was not equipped with large batteries. The internal cells here are small, but there is a solar panel system and there are braking energy recovery systems, etc. There is also an induction system that allows you to drive from power lines along the highway. The car has a closed cabin - this is the most noticeable innovation. However, thanks to the glass system and driver assistance cameras, visibility can be better than with open cars. The steering system is also revolutionary... no steering wheel, gesture-based.
