How to get a medical certificate for the traffic police?

According to the new rules of March 31, 2014, medical examinations can only be carried out in those medical institutions that are included in the traffic police database and have licenses.

A list of such institutions can be found in the district traffic police department or on their official website. Of the documents, it is enough to have a passport and a driver's license with you, you must also bring two 3/4 photos. If a person is liable for military service, then you still need to grab a military ID.

One more requirement was introduced - checks with a narcologist and a psychiatrist are carried out only in state or municipal medical institutions. That is, you will need to visit the narcological and neuropsychiatric dispensaries separately. Specialists will check in their file cabinets whether you are registered and whether there are any mental disorders.

Then you can go through all the other specialists: surgeon, therapist, ophthalmologist, otorhinolaryngologist. If a person has vision problems, then it is necessary to take glasses or contact lenses. Persons with the following deviations will not receive a medical certificate:

• severe hearing and vision impairment;
• limb pathology;
• mental illness;
• serious chronic diseases;
• backwardness in development;
• suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.

After passing all the specialists, you will receive a certificate of the established form with a multi-level security system. The decision to issue a certificate is made by the medical commission. I must say that if you have no health problems, then the medical examination and obtaining a certificate will not take much time. If there are certain problems, then they will give you a certificate, but you will have to undergo a re-examination every year, which will be noted accordingly.

According to the law, the cost of obtaining a medical certificate should not exceed 1657 rubles, but this applies only to state institutions, in private clinics prices may be higher.

The same persons who are going to work on cars, in the transport of goods or passengers, will have to undergo inspections much more often. For example, for those who work with passengers or dangerous goods, pre- and post-trip inspections are provided, drivers in private or public organizations must undergo an inspection upon employment and then at least once every two years. But they also need to receive a medical certificate only once every 10 years, except in cases where they need to replace their rights or receive them after the expiration of the deprivation.
