Mercedes unveils its new electric scooter

Designed as a last mile solution, the Mercedes e-scooter will soon be offered as an accessory in the manufacturer's range.

Following the presentation of its EQ scooter in 2019, Mercedes unveiled a new electric scooter. Like other manufacturers who had already started with this adventure, the manufacturer did not develop the car on its own and turned to the Swiss company Micro Mobility Systems AG with a request to adopt the existing white label model.

Dubbed the Mercedes-Benz eScooter, this small scooter is equipped with 8-inch wheels. With a total weight of 13.5 kg, it folds in seconds and fits into the trunk of a car (preferably a Mercedes). From an aesthetic point of view, nothing special: the Mercedes scooter is similar in every way to its rival models. In particular, we find a height-adjustable steering wheel, a small screen that conveys basic information and, of course, the manufacturer's logo.

On the technical side, we also stay within the standards of what is already on the market. Maybe even less ... The engine built into the front wheel develops a power of 500 W and allows a maximum speed of up to 20 km / h. The 7.8 Ah battery, which can be recharged in about three hours from a household outlet, consists of cells from the Korean manufacturer LG ... Its power is 280 Wh, and its autonomy is 25 kilometers. This is less than the Seat eKickScooter 65 with a range of up to 65 kilometers.

In terms of connectivity, the Mercedes scooter inherits the functionality of the Micro app. In Bluetooth, this allows you to receive information on your smartphone, such as battery charge status or distance traveled. You can also set the driving mode or the lighting level there.

Designed to join the manufacturer's range of accessories, the Mercedes-Benz e-scooter is set to hit the brand's dealers soon. If its pricing has not yet been announced, we assume that it is close to the current EQ Scooter, starting at 1299 Euros.
