Signal tower number 196
Sports and technical course. The ascent to Signal, which reaches its highest point at an altitude of 934 m, offers a magnificent panorama of the Alps, the Pilate massif and the Mont du Foret. Then a descent through the forest, from which an unobstructed view of the Livradua ridge opens. After Accole, cross the Bullière and a long technical descent to Bois d'Inde.

Unusual forest landscapes and amazing views? Be careful, take your strength, because all this needs to be earned! You will have to pass 4 very famous passes in the west of Lyon: Croix-du-Ban, Luer, Malval and, finally, Foss. A few meters from the Croix du Ban pass, it marks the border between the municipalities of Saint-Pierre-la-Palu, Sourcieux-les-Mines and Pollionnay. The term "ban" refers to those "expelled" from the royal domain during feudal times. Before arriving in Saint-Bonnet-le-Froy, you have a breathtaking 180 ° panorama! On your return to Pollionne, you will see the town hall located in the old house of Koshe Barange, built in 1930 in a park of 8250 m². To bounce back from your efforts, be sure to visit this wonderful park.

Roman aqueduct Giera
The aqueducts were built to supply running water to Lugdunum, then the capital of the Three Gauls. The longest, the Guier aqueduct, collected water from Gere to Saint-Chamond (department of the Loire) to transport it over 86 km to Lugdunum!
Some remnants of this monument are still visible, in particular in the Pla de l'Ere in Chaponoste, a unique site in France that has been classified since 1900! You will discover a magnificent series of 72 arches (originally 92) that led the canal during the Roman Empire. More than 2000 years old, this giant of stones is worth a visit!

Tourette Monastery
This world famous monastery was built by Le Corbusier in the middle of the XNUMX century and quickly became a symbol of modern architecture. It attracts visitors from all over the world.
Today it is inhabited by a community of 10 Dominican monks who strive to make it a place of meeting and exchange, around cultural and spiritual sessions, as well as by organizing workshops, excursions or for schools and receiving people.
The monastery is also home to a contemporary art exhibition.
Listed as a Historic Monument since 1979, since 2016 it has been included in the list of 17 sites designed by Le Corbusier and considered representative of his constructed works, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
