Model 1: an electric bike unlike any other

Following the founding of Vespa Soho, the first Vespa dealer in New York, Zachary Schiffelin created his own company, Civilized Cycles, in 2016. Drawing on his experience, he wanted to develop a new aesthetic, rugged, connected electric bike that could carry two passengers. This is how Model 1 was born.

For this, we used elements and technologies of various types of vehicles. This has allowed us to improve the safety, comfort and performance of our product. »

An electric bike with many benefits!

Model 1 is equipped with 750 W motor integrated in the crank system and is mated to a 5-speed Sturmey Archer gearbox. It is a kind of fusion of Vespa and a traditional bike, it weighs 34kg and can carry a maximum load of 180kg. The e-bike also has two large capacity waterproof bags (80 liters) that can act as mud flaps.

Offered in two versions (power pedaling or accelerator only), the Model 1 offers a top speed of 45 km / h in the American market, where electric bike legislation is much more flexible than in Europe.

The bike is in motion Battery 500 Wh... Very compact, stored in one of the two wheeled cases. It offers a range of 40 km. The latter can also be supplemented with a second package to double its autonomy.

Model 1 is equipped with a patented technology known as "automatic full suspension", which, thanks to sensors, an onboard compressor and an air spring, automatically adjusts the bike's suspension based on the weight it is supporting. This function is activated by pressing a button.

Model 1 will be released in 2022

The Model 1 was supposed to hit the international market in summer 2020, but the health crisis delayed the release of this product. As such, it will go on sale in the spring of 2022.

It will cost $ 4999, which equates to € 4200. At the moment, its marketing in Europe has not been announced.
