Enduro motorcycles - what you need to know at the beginning of your adventure?

Enduro motorcycles are very popular, especially among young people. Fashion does not pass and manufacturers know this, and more and more modern equipment enters the market. In addition, it is now much easier to legally ride a large enduro, which will be a lot of fun off-road. Because motorcycles enduro is not only 250 2T or 4T, but also 125, which is available to most. However, capacity is not the most important thing before buying your first motorcycle. Those who have at least one season behind them know this. What is worth knowing about these off-road bikes?

Enduro is a motorcycle, but which one?

People who are not very well versed in the motorcycle industry often use the term "cross" as the name of an off-road bike. And this is of course correct. However, cross-country bikes and enduro bikes cannot be put in the same bag, despite their significant similarities. Why? The easiest way to tell enduro bikes from motocross bikes is that the former are road approved. You can ride them on the streets and public roads, as well as off-road in the forests and even in the jungle (if you have access to them). On the other hand, a cross-country bike is a motorcycle designed strictly for sports and cannot be used on the roads.

Enduro and cross bikes

Why does enduro, compared to cross-country, make it legal to ride off-road? Mainly because it is equipped with headlights, turn signals, mirrors or a starter, all of which are (usually) missing from sports models. In addition, they are very similar designs. If you choose enduro, motorcycles will not disappoint you at all when you have already dealt with a typical cross-country sport.

You are choosing your first bike - will an old enduro fit?

We will not give a clear answer. Why? Because the secondary market has many unknowns and can surprise both positively and negatively. If you have absolutely no motorcycle experience and are looking to buy a two wheeler, it may be better to invest in a used model. New enduro bikes are not the cheapest form of off-road fun, so if you don't like this kind of fun, you won't be losing too much money.

Another thing is when you are a determined and self-confident rider. Then you usually know what you're looking for, or expect a soft offer. Below you will find an overview of supermoto models that are worth recommending, and new lovers of forest adventures will also learn a lot from them.

2T and 4T i.e. enduro expeditions and adventures

Why are we talking about how the engine works in the context of the routes covered? First of all, because two-stroke (2T) and four-stroke (4T) engines differ greatly in driving performance. The former are designed mainly for aggressive driving because they generate more power and enter the upper rev ranges. Off-road two-stroke enduro bikes go hard, but they are not suitable for touring.

Enduro 4T - something for flat trails

Four strokes are best suited for the road. The reason is simple - they go already "from the very bottom", which contributes to a fast and comfortable ride on flat surfaces. These enduros are also great for quiet long trips, where 2T is more likely to be out of the question. However, that doesn't mean you can't head into the woods on a 4T. Yes you can and how! However, there is a clear division - hard off-road is 2T, and touring enduro for long trips is 4T.

Lightweight and large enduro and accessories

Fun is fun, but in the field and when driving without being restricted by the rules of the road, safety is paramount. No one can imagine riding without full motorcycle gear. What does this equipment include? This includes, among other things:

● the helmet is of high quality and complies with safety standards such as SHARP or SNELL;

● knee pads - you don't want to hit the knee with a stone;

● safety goggles – to try on only with a helmet;

● off-road buzzer or body armor - provides trunk protection, depending on the version;

● shoes – necessary for stability and at the same time comfortable, equipped with strong fasteners (which means falling shoes, no need to explain);

● blouse, trousers, gloves are absolutely necessary items of equipment.

Which enduro bike to choose for yourself? Yamaha, Honda or others?

It's time to introduce the most exciting enduro bikes on the market. Among them, even an amateur will find something for himself, but an experienced motorcyclist will be satisfied. In that case, let's go!

Beta 125 rubles

The car is very good, especially at the beginning, but not only. Four-stroke single-cylinder engine and 15 hp Enough to overcome not very demanding slides. The suspension makes itself felt at very deep bottoms, so it’s better not to test it for maximum strength. This model is great for smoother trails, tight corners and asphalt.

Yamaha DT 125

This time a proposal with a 2T engine known among hobbyists and more experienced riders. The DT 125 models are a light enduro bike, but at the same time durable. These Yamahas are a lot of fun to ride, and you don't have to pull out a bag of cash every winter break. Of course, this is an aftermarket offer, because the production of this enduro ended a long time ago. If 14 hp is not enough for you and 15,2 Nm, check out the guides that will help you unlock this unit.

Honda CRF 250 Rally

The motorcycle has a fairly soft suspension and a 24 hp engine. This "quarter" is for those riders who want to know exactly the relationship between tires and asphalt. This Honda is predictable through and through, doesn't use too much fuel, and is well-suited for off-roading. This offer is for those who are not afraid of compromises. For supporters of more spacious units, the Honda Enduro 650 may be suitable.

Suzuki DR-Z 400

This is a relatively heavy cutter. Its engine is not as powerful as its power would suggest (40 hp). Despite this, the reliability and considerable simplicity allow you to focus mainly on only the nearest kilometers traveled by this machine. It comes in 3 versions. ""Civilized" enduro bikes, i.e. S, SM and E are suitable for everyday driving even on knurled. If you choose this model, check the oil level regularly and don't neglect regular maintenance, even if it doesn't need to be done often.

Honda XRV 750 Africa Twin

In principle, after listing this item, no further description is required. In the world of enduro, this is a legendary bike. It is valued for comfort over long distances, reliability and driving performance. Riders also appreciate the low fuel consumption. Flaws? This instance is not very suitable for extreme off-road driving. It's more of a trail running machine as an adventure enduro ie. expedition bike.

If you want to buy one of these bikes, look for used bikes or visit the store. Enduro is a bike that can be ridden both off-road and on the road, which is undoubtedly their big advantage.
